India's bank deposits surged by about ₹11 lakh crore over the six weeks to July 31, hitting a record as dollar inflows boosted rupee deposits. The rise reversed a ₹3.87 lakh crore decline recorded between April 1 and June 15. RBI measures, including discounted swap windows, helped attract FCNR deposits and encouraged cheaper dollar funding.
