India has become the world's sixth-largest aviation passenger market after handling 218.2 million passengers in 2025, up 3.3%, according to IATA. The Delhi-Mumbai route also retained its position as the ninth-busiest airport pair globally with around 5.5 million passengers, highlighting the country's rapidly expanding domestic aviation sector and growing global importance.
