The Centre ordered GitHub to remove repositories hosting Bitchat, the Bluetooth messaging platform developed by Twitter Co-founder Jack Dorsey. This comes as the government restricted internet in parts of Central Delhi amid the NEET paper leak protest. The ministry said the app could be exploited to coordinate unlawful assemblies and circumvent lawful restrictions during public-order situations.
