India has been buying Russian ​oil irrespective of US ‌sanctions waivers, said Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary at Ministry of Petroleum. "I'd like to emphasise that we've been purchasing from Russia...before waiver also, during waiver also, and now also," said Sujata. This comes after a report claimed India sought an extension of US sanctions waiver for continued procurement of Russian crude.
