According to UN Crime Trends Survey, with 22,172 rape cases recorded in 2010, India figures third among top 10 countries where highest number of rape took place. With 85,593 cases, US heads the list followed by Brazil (41,180). Moreover, the report said the highest number of murder took place in Brazil (50,108) in 2012, followed by India (43,335).
