India may account for 3.4 crore of projected 8 crore global job losses from heat stress-associated productivity decline by 2030, a World Bank report said. "Up to 75% of India's workforce, or 38 crore people, depend on heat-exposed labour, at times working in potentially life-threatening temperatures," it said. "India could experience heat waves that break human survivability limit," it added.
