India has developed a 1.5 kilowatt indigenous wireless charger for electric vehicles (EVs). The charger, which is capable of operating on a 230-volt and 50-hertz AC single-phase supply, charges 90% of 4.8 kWh onboard battery pack at 48 volts using 30 amperes in three hours. It has been developed by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and VNIT Nagpur.
