India has announced the formation of a 24×7 Quick Response Team (QRT) to help Indian seafarers amid war in the Middle East. The team will "carry out immediate response, evacuation, coordination and support functions", the Directorate General of Shipping said. The team led by Captain PC Meena, Deputy Director General of Shipping, DGS, will work closely with Indian Missions abroad.
