India gets first woman DG of civil aviation

Following the government's nod, M Sathiyavathy, 1982 batch UT cadre IAS officer, has been appointed as the director general of civil aviation (DGCA) till January 28, 2017. Sathiyavathy, who is currently additional secretary and financial advisor in the aviation ministry, has become the first woman to hold the post. She will replace Prabhat Kumar, who has completed his term.
