In 2012, India recorded the highest estimated number of suicides in the world, with suicide rate of 21.1 per 100K people, said a WHO report released Thursday. According to the report, 258,075 people committed suicide in India in 2012 including 99,977 women. The report also states that a suicide is committed every 40 sec globally.
