Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad announced on Wednesday that India had 25.51 million broadband users in rural areas till March 31, 2015. The data was reported by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and compared the figure to that of urban subscribers, which stood at 73.69 million. Further, Karnataka had 2.77 million rural subscribers, the highest in the country.
