The number of people earning more than ₹1 crore annually is 48,000 in India, according to the data released by Income Tax department for 2014-15. However, among these people, only 3,000 earn more than ₹5 crore. The number of crorepatis increased by 10% compared to the previous year, the highest yearly growth recorded in the income of Indians.
