India has costliest rocket launches in world, 4x more than US, reveals study

India’s estimated cost of placing one kg of payload into low Earth orbit was $13,302 (₹12 lakh) in 2025, over four times US cost of $3,225, according to Cambridge study. It was followed by Europe ($9,897), Russia ($6,682) and China ($5,809). However, ISRO Chairman V Narayanan said study used "wrong data". Cost/kg doesn't capture full economics of launch, he added.
