Biocon founder Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, having a net worth of $1.8 billion, is the only self-made billionaire in India, as per Forbes. The 63-year-old started the biopharmaceutical company Biocon in 1978, when she was just 25-years-old. Kiran had studied biology and zoology during her graduation from Bangalore University in 1973, before starting the company.
