India is set to finalise a major defence deal with Germany this fiscal for six next-generation diesel-electric submarines featuring advanced stealth and improved endurance. Under the RFP, the first submarine will be delivered seven years after signing, with 45% indigenous content, rising to 60% over subsequent units.
