India has warned citizens travelling to or transiting through China after an Arunachal Pradesh woman was detained for 18 hours at Shanghai airport, where officials claimed her passport was invalid. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) sought assurances from Beijing against selective targeting and reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India, lodging a strong protest with China.
