The Consulate General of India in Seattle released a statement after tsunami advisories were issued for areas in US, like Oregon, Washington and Alaska. "Indian citizens in these areas are advised to follow advisories issued by local government authorities and take necessary precautions to ensure safety," it said. Earlier, tsunami waves struck parts of Russia and Japan after strong tremors.
