India launched DHRUV64, its first 1.0 GHz, 64 bit dual core microprocessor designed by C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing). Developed under the Microprocessor Development Programme, the chip aims to cut import dependence and support strategic and commercial applications across sectors like 5G, automotive and industrial automation, strengthening India's semiconductor self-reliance.
