India likely to raise vegetable oil import taxes to aid local farmers: Report

India may raise import taxes on vegetable oils for second time in less than six months to aid oilseed farmers, Reuters reported citing a government source. In September 2024, India imposed a 20% customs duty on crude and refined vegetable oils. After revision, crude palm oil, soybean oil and sunflower oil attracted 27.5% import duty.
