India mandates BIS standards for screen protectors from April 2027

MeitY has made BIS certification mandatory for smartphone screen protectors in India. From April 1, 2027, manufacturers and importers must comply with IS 19348:2025, covering glass strength, display clarity, coatings, and packaging norms. The move targets quality improvement in a market flooded with unbranded, low-cost products.
