India named in US lawmaker's amendment for 100% tariffs over Russian oil

A US lawmaker has submitted an amendment to the Russia sanctions bill explicitly naming India among countries that could face 100% tariffs. However, another lawmaker moved an amendment seeking to scrap the clause authorising the President to impose tariffs. Passed by the US Senate last month, the bill seeks to penalise countries that are major oil trading partners of Russia.
