India will need around 1 lakh company secretaries (CS) by 2030 amid rising economic growth and increasing focus on good governance, said the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). Currently, there are over 73,000 company secretaries and only 12,000 of them are practising. ICSI gives membership to over 2,500 people every year on an average basis.
