India needs 3 national carriers: Adani Airports CEO

Adani Airports CEO Arun Bansal said India needs three national carriers — citing IndiGo and Air India as two — to support projected passenger growth from 300 million to 1.1–1.2 billion by 2040–45. Speaking at Delhi Aviation India 2026, he called for protecting domestic airlines before open-skies expansion and announced $10–11 billion infrastructure investment over seven years.
