India now has the world's second-largest road network after an increase of 59% in the last nine years, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has said. India's road network now stands at 1,45,240 km as compared to 91,287 km in 2013-14, Gadkari said. The US currently has the world's largest road network, he added.
