India opens door to cheaper UK car imports, cuts duty to 10%

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has notified the process for importers to seek quota-based duty concessions on UK-built vehicles under the India-UK trade pact. Under the agreement, India will cut import duties on eligible UK vehicles from about 110% to 10%. India will allow imports of 3.78 lakh UK-made petrol and diesel cars over the pact's first 15 years.
