India overhauls airport transit security after immigration breach

Civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu said airport security under the hub-and-spoke model was overhauled after three Italian-origin passengers bypassed mandatory exit immigration at Delhi on September 4. Two AISTATS personnel were suspended. New measures include stricter boarding pass checks and additional verification at transfer points to prevent future lapses.
