Reflecting no improvement, India’s ranking in the Human Development Index (HDI) remained unchanged at 135 (value 0.586) in 2013, says a UN Development Programme report released Thursday. This puts India in the medium human development category. HDI considers long-term progress in three basic dimensions of human lives - long and healthy life, access to knowledge and decent standard of living.
