According to the 2015 Global Peace Index (GPI) published on Wednesday, India is ranked at 143 out of 162 nations in the index this year. India, in 2014, suffered an economic impact of $341.7 bn (4.7% of the country's GDP) for containing and dealing with violence, the report said. Iceland led the GPI followed by Denmark and Austria respectively.
