Temperatures in India soared on Saturday with Rajasthan's Phalodi recording a maximum temperature of 50°C. According to IMD, 50°C is the highest temperature recorded in the country since June 1, 2019, when Rajasthan's Churu recorded its highest temperature of 50.8°C. Seventeen places in states like Punjab, Maharashtra and UP recorded maximum temperatures of 45°C or more.
