Citing an international report, the govt on Friday said, India has recorded the highest number of under-five children deaths annually, due to pneumonia and diarrhoea. The country has 3.18 lakh under-five children deaths yearly because of the two diseases. The govt further said it is carrying out a number of child health interventions to control these two diseases.
