India recorded an average rainfall of 126.7 mm across the country in May this year, according to an India Meteorological Department (IMD) report. This makes this month the wettest since 1901, when the department first started recording temperatures. This May also reported the highest number of heavy and very heavy rainfall in the past five years, the report said.
