India has reported two cases of Omicron COVID-19 variant from Karnataka, with the patients being two men aged 66 and 46. Cases of the variant have been found in South Africa, US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Botswana, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, UK and several other countries. WHO has said Omicron poses a "very high risk" that could have "severe consequences".
