India has reported 72,330 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which is the maximum number of new cases reported in a day in nearly six months. The country also reported 459 deaths, which is the highest death count in nearly four months. The total number of cases stood at 1,22,21,665, while the death toll jumped to 1,62,927.
