India has responded to Bangladesh's claim that it "foiled several attempts by India to force people into the country". MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India has laws to deal with foreign nationals, including from Bangladesh, staying illegally. He added illegal citizens are deported only after Bangladesh verifies their nationality, adding there are many such requests still pending with them.
