India responded after US Commerce Secretary said India-US trade deal didn't happen because "PM Modi didn't call President Trump". Stating India and US were close to finalising trade deal on several occasions, MEA said, "Characterisation of these discussions in the reported remarks isn't accurate...PM Modi and President Trump have also spoken on phone on eight occasions during 2025," MEA said.
