After Nepal claimed Lipulekh as part of Nepalese territory and asked India and China not to undertake Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through it, India responded by saying that the territorial claims are unjustified. "Lipulekh Pass has been a long-standing route for the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra since 1954...and the Yatra through this route has been going on for decades," MEA said.
