India has responded to a report by a special branch of the United Nations Human Rights Council that raised concerns over the country's new IT rules. Calling the concerns "misplaced, exaggerated and disingenuous", India said, "The rules are designed to empower ordinary users of social media. The victims of abuse on social media...shall have a forum for redressal of grievances."
