India's $12 billion semiconductor push to create 1 lakh jobs: Govt

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said $12 billion in semiconductor investments under Semicon 2.0 will create over one lakh jobs in India. The initiative will expand across chips, chemicals, equipment, and design sectors. The government also plans shared R&D funding with industry and academia to build a globally competitive semiconductor ecosystem.
