The Jonnagiri gold mine in Andhra Pradesh is expected to produce 400 kg of gold in 2026-27, and is expected to produce 900 kg in the subsequent years, several reports said. The first private gold mine was inaugurated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday. According to Centre's data, India imported about 721 tonnes of gold in 2025-26.
