India's current account deficit (CAD) widened to $9.7 billion or 1.1% of GDP in the April-June quarter from $8.9 billion or 1% of GDP a year ago. The increase was driven by a rise in merchandise trade deficit to $65.1 billion in Q1 FY25 from $56.7 billion in Q1 FY24. Net services receipts increased to $39.7 billion during the period.
