India's data centre boom may add only 0.13% to GDP by 2030

India has attracted more than $250 billion in announced data-centre investments, but Moody's estimates the sector may contribute only 0.13% to GDP by 2030. High dependence on imported equipment and limited employment reduce domestic value creation. The bigger opportunity lies in using the data-centre boom to build local supply chains, expand cloud adoption and increase digital-services exports.
