India set to open its first lithium mine in Katghora region of Korba district in Chhattisgarh following the confirmation of deposits of the metal by Geological Survey of India. This will provide a major boost in the employment in the region. GSI has reported lithium concentration of 10 to 2000 parts per million in 250 hectare stretch of land.
