India's forex reserves drop, still around record high of $705 bn

India's forex reserves declined by $5.623 billion in the week ending October 31 to $689.733 billion, driven by a slump in both foreign currency assets and gold reserves, RBI's data said. Still, the country's forex kitty is hovering close to its all-time high of $704.89-billion, reached in September 2024. For the reported week, foreign currency assets stood at $564.591 billion.
