The 2024–25 Swachh Survekshan covered over 4,500 cities, compared to just 73 in its 2016 launch. More than 3,000 assessors visited wards across India, surveying over 11 lakh households. The survey used 10 parameters and 54 indicators to assess sanitation, waste management, and service delivery with a focus on inclusivity and transparency. Around 14 crore citizens participated in the survey.
