India's power capacity will double to 1,100 GW by 2035: Sumant

ReNew CEO Sumant Sinha said on podcast that India's power generating capacity will double from 550 GW to about 1,100 GW by 2035, with renewables accounting for nearly 750 GW. He said electricity consumption will also double to 3.6 trillion units, driven by EVs, AI data centres & industry. Without efficiency gains, demand would grow 8% a year, he added.
