India’s services sector is the strongest engine of growth for the economy, contributing 55% of the country’s Gross Value Added and employing nearly 188 million people, NITI Aayog reported. This sector has created around 40 million new jobs in the last six years. IT, financial services and health services offered better pay but employed around 25 million workers.
