India's sovereign AI model will be ready for its launch by February 2026, MeitY Secretary S Krishnan said. He highlighted that though India was a latecomer in AI, it scaled up its computing infrastructure rapidly with the deployment of 38,000 GPUs against the target of 10,000 units. "Before end of 2025...we should have first entirely Indian foundational model," Krishnan said.
