India’s unemployment rate falls to 4-month low of 5.1% in July

India's unemployment rate fell to a four-month low of 5.1% in July from 5.5% in June, driven by improving rural employment conditions, PLFS data showed. Rural unemployment dropped to 4.5%, while urban joblessness rose marginally to 6.7%. The labour force participation rate climbed to 55.4% from 54.4%, indicating more people entered the labour market during the month.
