India's upma secured the 43rd rank on TasteAtlas' '50 Best Porridges in the World' list. The top spot was taken by Indonesia's Bubur ayam, which was followed by the Philippines' Arroz caldo, Georgia's Elarji, Romania's Taci şi înghite and Ukraine's Banosh. Upma, which is made with dry semolina, is usually served hot for breakfast, as per TasteAtlas.
