Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that Diwali this year saw India's biggest Diwali business in its trading history. Noting that 87% customers chose to buy Indian-made goods over imports, Sitharaman said, "India's festive retail sales hit an all-time high of ₹6.05 lakh crore this year. This is a 25% YoY increase." Trader surveys showed confidence at decade high, she added.
